It all began enigmatically enough, about a month ago, and ended with great gales of laughter, confusion and high happy strangeness just four nights back. Yet I remember it as if it were...oh, four nights back...
(The screen goes all wavy, and the light harp music flutters in, signifying a flashback.)
Laura and I were in our traditional "Nazi torturer" garb at the Paris 1889 reception at the Academy of Fine Arts. We were each clutching the traditional "two-fistfuls o'booze" and hiding from the melee in a shadowy corner. Suddenly, from the midst of the throng, a shadow of a woman with a heavy foreign accent appeared in front of us.
